In the heat of summer you want a refreshing iced treat, but going out to the supermarket and buying ice lollies can be expensive, and you can never be sure how much extra sugar is in them. With these delicious yogurt pops, you can make a healthy frozen treat, and know exactly what they contain!
Ingredients for Frozen Yogurt Pops
- Packs of vanilla yogurt, we recommend Yoplait Original French Vanilla. You’ll be putting the mixture in to 5oz cups, so check the size on the yogurt to make sure it divides easily.
- Diced pieces of fruit such as strawberries, peaches, raspberries, blueberries, cherries or oranges.
- Tablespoon of honey, to sweeten the yogurt.
How To Make Yogurt Pops
Pour the yogurt in to a food processor or blender. Add the honey and the diced fruit, and blend until smooth.
Spoon the mixture in to 5oz paper cups, or ice pop molds (following manufacturers directions). Cover with foil, and add a lolly stick.
Leave in freezer for a minimum of six hours to ensure they are properly set.
These frozen yogurt pops are a great way to get your kids to eat fruit. You can create a mixture of flavours using different fruits, and make a refreshing treat that you won’t be able to find in any supermarket. Our favourites include strawberry and peach, and orange, mango and pineapple (which has a lovely tropical taste). Alternatively you can use flavoured Greek yogurt (which is a little thicker and creamier than other yogurts), we love coconut flavoured Greek yogurt mixed with raspberries!
Once frozen you can decorate the ends of the lolly sticks with washi tape, and serve them up at a summer party. Or just keep them all to yourself (we won’t tell anyone).
